Riverside rec board petition drive nets 1,019 signatures

It looks like Riverside voters will have an advisory referendum on the Nov. 2 ballot. This morning at 10:30 a.m., Joseph Ballerine, a member of the Riverside parks and recreation board, filed a 115-page petition containing 1,019 signatures with the village clerk asking that the following question be put to a vote: "Shall the Village of Riverside retain its Parks and Recreation Board?"

Brookfield extends storm damage pickup

Brookfield Village Manager Riccardo Ginex announced today that due to the extent of damage done to homes in the wake of the July 24 flood event, the village's waste hauling company, Groot, has extended storm-damage pickup until Friday, Aug. 6.

Six prospective buyers gathered at 122 Nuttall Road in Riverside on Tuesday to bid for the 8,500-square-foot home, which sports six bedrooms, seven full baths, a luxury kitchen, wine cellar and in-ground pool.

New red light camera for North Riverside

North Riverside's third, and likely final, red light camera has been installed and could be operational by early August, the village's police chief said last week.

Summer ball ends with new coach

Recently appointed Riverside-Brookfield varsity baseball head coach Dallas Till got a good jump on his job coaching the Bulldogs this summer. Replacing Mike Ziroli, who moved on to accept a counselor position at Lyons Township, Till is excited to take over the reins from his close friend.
