Second man guilty of hitting cyclist
Just a week after his friend pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated driving under influence, Chicago resident Erik Fabian, 20, pleaded guilty to the same charges on June 22 and received two years' probation and 130 hours of community service for intentionally driving a car into a bicyclist on May 2009 in Brookfield.

For the second time in two weeks, Riverside and Lyons firefighters have pulled a body from the Des Plaines River. A man whose body was pulled from the river Sunday morning apparently drifted from farther upstream and had been dead for some time, according to police.
